2023 Centenary Year Events

In celebration of our Centenary there were a larger than usual number of events during 2023/2024 including:

• The Annual Meeting in March 2023  with speakers  -  Ben Clifford from Surfability and  Owen Teale - actor.
• 95 members attended the National Federation meeting at St Davids Hall in Cardiff.
• Chepstow Races  June 2023- an enjoyable day out.
• The Glamorgan Show held early July 2023 was a resounding success with more members than every before participating.
• Centenary Garden Party at Margam Abbey July 2023 - attended by 600 ladies.
• Centenary Baton of Friendship - Wendy Knight cycled round the Federation to all the WIs.
• Centenary Flower Festival at Margam Abbey over a weekend in August 2023 with a Service at the Abbey.
• A trip to Oxford was arranged by the Public Affairs sub-committee in August 2023
• An afternoon tea for Presidents was held at the Orangery Margam Park in September 2023.
• The Centenary Thanksgiving Service was held at Llandaff Cathedral and was well attended.
• Sport & Leisure sub-committee organised a visit to "Go Ape" which was enjoyed by all who attended.
• The annual Federation Quiz in Porthcawl October 2023 was well attended.
