Rhoose WI Information

Rhoose Women`s Institute

We meet on the first Thursday of each month at the Rhoose Community Hall, Stewart Road, Rhoose, CF62 3ND. We are an accessible space with disabled parking, accessible toilets and ramp entry to the hall.

Membership also offers you online courses, and further engagement via this medium, plus a WI magazine delivered to your home each month.

We have a great support network with lots of fun and friendships and you can join in as much or as little as you choose.

For further information on visiting as a guest, or to speak/deliver a workshop, please contact our President ann@apwhite.plus.com 01446 713756 or Wendy on 07912356588.

Thank you for showing an interest in Rhoose Women`s Institute (WI).

We are a diverse, friendly group of women, in both age and background, and even music tastes.

“The WI offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen their horizons and together to influence local, national and international affairs” This is the objectives of the National Federation of Women`s Institutes- and we at Rhoose are proud to play our part.

We welcome visitors to attend a few meetings, activities or events so that they can see who we are and what we do before deciding if they would like to join us as a member.

We have a coffee morning each Tuesday 11am at the Fontygary Complex Café, which is open to all women in our community – no need to be a member or book just come along!

We have an interesting and wide-ranging programme of events, including talks and workshops each month, from belly dancing, historical talks, 60s and 70s era night and everything in between. (see attached Programme).

We have a very active craft group who meet at 1pm to 3pm each Wednesday at the Rhoose Social Club. We have a variety of abilities within our group, it is fun, light hearted and social interaction.

All members are welcome - even just to join us for a cup of tea and a chat. We sell our creations at our monthly meetings, community events and local fayres. All profits raised go back into our WI to subsidise trips and activities.

Our lunch club usually meet on the third Thursday of each month and enjoy various eateries around the Vale of Glamorgan and even further afield. Where possible we share transport and often integrate another activity, like shopping

On the first Saturday in the month we support the Barry Library Repair Café Wales where we repair textiles and clothing, everyone is welcome to join us there for tea and homemade cake- even if no repairs are needed.

When members make suggestions, we try to take them forwards, so we have two new initiatives in our programme for 2026, we are setting up a walking group and online Basic Baking sessions.
